The project was put out to bid in June 1998, but the acceptable bids were higher than the approved budget. Additional funds can be provided from administrative reserves which are held for this purpose. CUT �w RESOLUTION NO. 3 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE 4 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO A COMMUNITY 5 DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAiN BERNARDINO, AND MARY'S 6 MERCY CENTER (PROJECT NO. 96-233) 7 8 Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows: 9 to SECTION 1 I t (a) The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to 12 execute, on behalf of the City, an amendment to the agreement for Community Development 13 Block Grant funding with the Mary's Mercy Center, Inc., which amendment is attached hereto as 14 Exhibit "1", and is incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at length. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AGREEMENT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS/REHABILITATION THIS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 96-233 referred to as ("Amendment"), is made and entered into this 1st day of July, 1998 by and between the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation• referred to as ("City"). and Mary's Mercy Center, a non-profit community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and Subrecipient agree as follows: WITNESSETH Community Development Block Grant WHEREAS, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement#96-233 dated October 21, 1996 referred to as("Agreement"); and WHEREAS, City and Subrecipient desire to amend agreement to include the • subrecipient's completion of the conversion and expansion of the shower and laundry facilities; and WHEREAS. City desires to increase the amount Community Development Block Grant funding in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000) to allow Subrecipient to complete the project. Now,therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the mutual benefits to be derived therefrom, the parties agree to modify the original agreement as follows: 1. Change the first sentence in Section 2 Payments City shall reimburse Subrecipient for allowable costs incurred under the scope of this Amendment and applicable Federal regulations, which have not been paid for or reimbursement will be made at least on a monthly basis, with the total of all such reimbursements not to exceed • Thirty-Three Thousand, Seven Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars ($33,732).
