CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO — REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
BACKGROUND
It is requested that the Mayor and Common Council approve an Annual Purchase Order to
California Turf who provides maintenance materials, supplies and services for lawnmowers used
by the City Parks and Recreation Department. The purchase order for this service totaled
$36,500.00 in FY 97/98.
CALIFORNIA TURF
California Turf is a sole source provider of"Toro" lawnmower parts in Southern California.
These parts are necessary for maintenance and repair of the eleven commercial lawnmowers
maintained by fleet.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for these purchase orders are contained in the Public Services Department, Fleet Division
Fiscal Year`98/99 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council authorize the Purchasing Manager to
issue an Annual Purchase Order to California Turf in an amount "not to exceed" $32,000.00 to
purchase parts for the repair of lawnmowers.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
6 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. That California Turf is a sole source provider of"Toro' lawnmower parts
8
for the Parks and Recreation Department. The total amount "not to exceed" $32,000.00,
9
pursuant to this determination,the Finance Department is hereby authorized to award the Annual
10
11 Purchase Order for said California Turf.
12 SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above-referenced Annual Purchase Order
13 is rescinded if it is not issued within sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.
