San Bernardino City Charter§ 11 provides that at the next regular or adjourned meeting LO
following the completion of the canvass, the Mayor and Common Council shall declare rc-0
the results of said election as certified by the City Clerk or the Registrar of Voters of the
County of San Bernardino as being official. o

In addition to federal and state elections, voters in the City of San Bernardino had three
marijuana-related initiatives: Measures N, O, and P and a proposed new Charter y
Measure L to consider on the November 8, 2016 ballot. The results of that election were
certified by the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters on December 5, 2016. o

Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact from accepting the results of the election.
Conclusion a
To be compliant with the current City Charter, the Mayor and City Council must declare
the results certified.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 8TH DAY OF
4 NOVEMBER 2016, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SETTING
5 FORTH SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
6 WHEREAS, on November 8, 2016, the City of San Bernardino held a General
Municipal Election for the purposes of considering a proposed charter and three marijuana o

7 initiatives; and
8 WHEREAS, on November 8, 2016, there were 87,673 registered voters in the City of
9 San Bernardino; and
10 WHEREAS, the total of all votes cast in the City elections was 47, 689, for a voter
turnout of 54.39 percent. _d

12 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON C-0'
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of a
14 statement of the results of the General Municipal Election held on the 8th day of November, E
15 2016.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and Common Council hereby declare the results of said Q
16 elections as certified by the County Registrar of Voters, as stated in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto, as official.

18 SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall send a copy of the Charter to the Secretary of State
for filing.
