Motion: Grant Permission to the City Clerk to Use the City Seal on a Cookie Press.
Recommendation
Provide written permission to City Clerk Gigi Hanna to have the City Seal applied to a
cookie press
Background
The City Clerk's Office over sees the city's boards and commissions, coordinating
annual statements of economic interest, Brown Act training and staffing several city
commissions. A recent tradition has been a year-end celebration of the 132
commissioners who volunteer across 19 boards.
The City Clerk is requesting permission to have the city seal made into a cookie press,
at her expense, to be used to make the dessert to be served at this event. Municipal
Code section 9.04.025 prohibits the private use of the city seal without written
permission of the mayor and common council. The clerk respectfully requests
permission to use it in this manner.
This year's celebration of commissioners is set for 5:30 pm on Thursday, December 15
at Mittal Cafe, 602 N Mt Vernon Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92411
Fiscal Impact
There is no cost to the city. The press will cost $47 to make.
