Student of the Month
MIDDLE COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL
Areli Lopez was born in San Bernardino where she attended Marshall
Elementary School, Richardson PREP HI Middle School, and is now a senior at
Middle College High School. She is proud to be in the first graduation class of
students who entered Middle College in the 9d' grade. She currently holds a 4.6
GPA (grade point average).
Areli's father, Jose, Sr., works in the City of Commerce for LA Binding
and her mother, Victoria, is a stay at-home mom. Her brother Jose, Jr. is a
student at California State University, San Bernardino and Angel is a student at
Richardson PREP. Her sister, Vianney, is in the 3rd grade at Kimbark
Elementary School.
In addition to Areli's full time status as a high school student, a college
student and her many extra-curricular activities, she works at Richard PREP HI
Middle School. Her school activities include ASB (Associated Student Body) 40
President, member of the Principal's focus group, Rotary Interact, peer leader 40
and cyber security club. She also volunteers at her church. 40
Areli's message to all students is a motto she received from one of her
teachers when she was a freshman; "work hard, play hard, but work hard first".

A Benita Rodriguez is an inspiration to all citizens of San Bernardino.
* She goes above and beyond the call of duty to make our city great
again.
Benita regularly attends city council meetings, town hall meetings and
is very active in the community.
She advocates for those with no voice and her voice is always heard
very loud and clear when she expresses concerns regarding issues not
only in the 6th Ward but throughout greater San Bernardino.
Benita is a true inspiration who is very motivated and willing to assist
when needed.
Benita Rodriguez is an excellent example of the "Citizen" of the
Month acronym:
