STAFF REPORT
A request was received from Price Costco for the vacation of a portion of Club Center Drive, from the East line
of Club Way to a point approximately 345 feet Easterly. Costco owns property on both sides of the area
proposed to be vacated and would like to expand their facilities at this location, including the expansion of the
parking area. The vacation of this portion of Club Center Drive would allow them to encompass this area into
the proposed expansion of the parking area.
The petitioner has paid the first half ($500) of the $1,000 Street Vacation Processing fee. All effected utilities
and City Departments have been notified of the proposal with a request for their comments. The attached sheet
summarizes the responses from the various departments and utilities. Easements are being reserved to the City
for sewer and waterlines.
The attached resolution sets a public hearing for January 13, 1996 regarding the proposed vacation. The area
proposed for vacation will be posted and the resolution will be published in the Sun newspaper. All property
owners abutting the area proposed for vacation will also be given mailed notice about the hearing.
We recommend that the resolution be approved.
URGENCY CLAUSE: It is requested that this proposal be heard at this time in order to meet tight scheduling
requirements for the proposed expansion of the abutting facilities.
