08-19-96 -- Resolution No. 96-262 adopted awarding a contract for

Recommended motion:
That the plans for furnishing and installing pump equipment for the
domestic water well and the irrigation water well , at San
Bernardino Trade Center and International Airport , in accordance
wl_th Plan No. 9617 . be approved; a.n( the Dl_.r_ector of Public'
Works/Cit-v Engineer be authorized to advertise for bids .

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Plans for furnishing and installing pumping equipment for
the two new wells for the San Bernardino Trade Center and Inter-
national Airport, have been prepared and the project is ready to
be advertised for bids. The project consists, in general, of
installing electric motors, head shafts and couplings, pump
discharge heads, column pipe and water lobe shaft, pump bowl
assemblies and suction sections, as required to obtain fully
operational wells .
The City of San Bernardino Water Department will furnish
and install the electrical service panels, concrete pump bases
and supply piping, with their own forces .
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract -
Domestic Well $ 69 , 300
Irrigation Well 41 , 400
$ 110 , 700
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1993) 11 , 000
Water Department Forces 15 , 000
Sub-Total $ 136 , 700
Contingencies (15%) ± 20 , 300
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 157 , 000
All cost: incurred for these projects will be charged to
Account 110. 242-362--5594-1993 , and charged to the Federal
Economic Development Administration grant (75%) , and the Inland
Valley Development Agency (25%) . No City funds will be used to
finance any portion of this project.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids .
