RE: Mayor and Common Council /Community Development Commission
regular meeting dates for 1999
This is a request to have the Mayor and Common Council and the
Community Development Commission approve the following
Council /commission regular meetings dates for 1999: January 11
(second Monday) ; January 25 (fourth Monday) ; February 1 and 15;
March 1 and 15; April 5 and 19; May 3 and 17; June 7 and 21; July
6 and 19; August 2 and 16; September 7 and 20; October 4 and 18;
November 1 and 15; and December 6 and 20.
Except for the meetings noted in January, all other regular
Council /Commission meetings for 1999 will take place on the first
and third Mondays of each month, with the exception of those
falling on a holiday. Due to the upcoming holidays and its
anticipated conflicts with meeting agenda deadlines, it is proposed
that Council /Commission meetings in January be held on the second
and fourth Mondays of the month (January 11 and 25), rather than
the first and third Mondays. If approved, this change would result
in having back -to -back meetings the last Monday in January and the
first Monday in February.
With the Mayor and Common Council's approval of a year -long
schedule of regular meeting dates, it would make it easier for all
concerned to be aware of the schedule in order to provide them with
as much advance notice of deadlines for submitting agenda items for
the entire calendar year.
Also, please note that the attached 1999 Council Meeting & Agenda
Deadline Schedule shows the Christmas holidays to be observed on
December 24 and 27, 1999. The current Memorandum of Understanding
stipulates that the holidays will be observed on December 23 and
24, 1999. Hence, these dates may change pending further meet and
confer sessions.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development
Commission approve the following dates for regular meetings in 1999
for the Mayor and Common Council /Community Development Commission:
January 11 (second Monday) ; January 25 (fourth Monday) ; February 1
and 15; March 1 and 15; April 5 and 19; May 3 and 17; June 7 and
21; July 6 and 19; August 2 and 16; September 7 and 20; October 4
and 18; November 1 and 15; and December 6 and 20.

May and June.
