Staff Report
SUBJECT:
Resolution Amending Resolution No. 89- 378 - -- Vacation of portions of Main Street and
Broadway Street between "I" and "J" Streets.
BACKGROUND:
The vacation of portions of Main Street and Broadway Street, between "I" and "J" Streets was
approved by Resolution No. 89 -378. The recording of the Resolution was deferred until certain
conditions could be met by the railroad, which was the installation of a new grade crossing for
the extension of Orange Show Road. Those conditions were met and the Resolution recorded in
February of 1999.
After recording of the Resolution, it was noted that a portion of the legal description, described
as Parcel One in said resolution contained an error. This action is a ministerial action to correct
the error and does not alter the area originally proposed for vacation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that attached Resolution be adopted.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 89 -378, ENTITLED IN PART "RESOLUTION... ORDERING THE
VACATION OF PORTIONS OF MAIN STREET AND BROADWAY STREET,
BETWEEN `I' AND `J' STREETS...;" TO CORRECT THE LEGAL DESCRIPTION
FOR PARCEL ONE AND TWO DESCRIBED THEREIN.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Resolution No. 89 -378 is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"The Mayor and Common Council of said City do hereby vacate portions Main Street and
Broadway Street between "I" and "J" Streets, San Bernardino, California, more particularly
described as follows:
Those portions of Main Street and Broadway Street in the City of San Bernardino,
County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows:
PARCEL ONE: That portion of Broadway Street, delineated as that certain unnamed
East/West Street on the Map of Carter's Subdivision, as per plat recorded in Book
3 of Maps, page 79, records of said County, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of Lot 11 of said subdivision, said point also
being on the South line of Broadway Street; thence East, along said South line to the
West line of the A.T. & S.F. Railroad Right of Way and the True Point of Beginning;
thence East, along said South line of Broadway Street to the East line of said
Railroad Right of Way; thence North, along said East line to the North line of said
Broadway Street, said point also being on the South line of Lot 6 of said Carter's
Subdivision; thence West along said North line of said Broadway Street to the West
line of said Railroad Right of Way; thence Southeasterly, along said West line, to the
True Point of Beginning;
PARCEL TWO: That portion of Main Street, delineated as that certain unnamed
East/West Street on the Map of Carter's Subdivision, as per plat recorded in Book
3 of Maps, page 79, records of said County, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot 20 of said Carter's Subdivision, said
point also being on the South line of said Main Street; thence East, along said South
line to the West line of the A.T. & S. F. Railroad Right of Way and the True Point

SECTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino shall cause a certified copy of
this resolution to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of San Bernardino County to
amend said Resolution No. 89 -378 as recorded in the office of said County Recorder on the 22 °d
day of February, 1999, as Document Number 19990071497.
