MOTION: RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO CONTINUE EXPENDITURES AT THE BUDGETED
LEVEL FOR 1997 - 1998 FISCAL YEAR, PENDING FINAL APPROVAL OF
THE 1998 - 1999 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET, WITH ALLOWANCES FOR ANY
SPECIFICALLY APPROVED INCREASES.

STAFF REPORT
Continuing Budget Resolution
Currently, staff is in the process of preparing a proposed budget
for the fiscal year 1998-1999. However, it is not anticipated that
the Agency's budget will be approved by the Commission prior to the
end of the fiscal year, June 30, 1998. Therefore, it is
appropriate to adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Agency
to continue expenditures at the same budgeted level as the prior
fiscal year, 1997-1998, with the exception that any increased
programs or levels of service specifically approved by the
Commission be permitted. The continuing Resolution will remain in
effect until such date as action on the Agency's budget has been
taken by the Commission, or until further action by the Commission.
Based upon the foregoing, staff recommends adoption of the form
motion.

LEVEL FOR 1997 - 1998 FISCAL YEAR, PENDING FINAL APPROVAL OF
4 THE 1998 - 1999 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET, WITH ALLOWANCES FOR ANY
SPECIFICALLY APPROVED INCREASES.
5 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
G COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS:
7 Section 1.
8 The staff of the Economic Development Agency of the City
9 of San Bernardino is preparing and will submit to the Community
10 Development Commission of the City of San Bernardino a proposed
11 budget for fiscal year 1998-1999 and a date will be set for a hearing
12 thereon. Until such time that a comprehensive hearing on the budget
13 occurs, the Community Development Commission desires to authorize
14 the Economic Development Agency to continue expenditures at the same
15 budgeted level as for the prior fiscal year, 1997-1998, with the
16 exception that any increased programs or levels of services
17 specifically approved by the Commission should be permitted.

19 The Community Development Commission of the City of San
20 Bernardino hereby authorizes the Economic Development Agency of the
21 City of San Bernardino to continue expenditures at the same levels
as approved in the final budget for the Economic Development Agency
22
of the City of San Bernardino for fiscal year 1997-1998, with the
23
exception that additional expenditures shall be permitted as
24
required to meet increased programs or levels of service specifically
25
approved by the Commission. This continuing authority shall remain
26
in effect until such date as action has been taken upon the budget
27
of the Economic Development Agency of the City of San Bernardino
