Recommended Motion:
That the Public Works Department be authorized to proceed with street name changes for two access roads into
Inland Center Mall from"E" Street, Central Avenue to be changed to "North Mall Street" and Benedict Street to
be changed to "South Mall Street".

STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT:
Authorization to proceed— Street Name Change—for Two Access Roads to Inland Center Mall, Central Avenue to
"North Mall Street"and Benedict Street to "South Mall Street"
BACKGROUND:
General Growth Management of California, Inc., a management company for Inland Center Mall is in the process
of constructing a new building for the tenant(Robinson May Company) and a parking structure. To keep
uniformity in this renovation project, General Growth Management has requested two street name changes. These
two access roads with the name changes would better identify ingress and egress for the Inland Center Mall.
Central Avenue and Benedict Street serve as entryways into the Inland Center Mall from of"E" Street. The
businesses on these streets front on"E" Street, and therefore would require no address change. Since no addresses
front on theses two streets,there would be no adverse impact as result of the name changes.
If authorization is given, this office will make the necessary notification to the adjoining property owners, City
Departments and utility companies, conduct the investigations and prepare the appropriate resolution. The Post
Office will also be advised of the street name change.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The applicant has paid a$500.00 non-refundable processing fee for the street name change and will pay the cost of
new street signs.
RECOMMENDATION:
We recommend the authorization to proceed with the street name change for two access roads into the Inland
Center Mall.
