AGENDA ITEM: Ordinance Amending Sections 8.90.110A; §8.90.110(H)(2)
of the San Bernardino Municipal Code Relating to the
Mobile Home Rent Board
The proposed amendment changes the present ordinance to permit any designated full-time
employee of EDA to serve as Director of the Mobile Home Rent Board. The present reading requires
that said director be either a City or an EDA department head.
The need for closer supervision of the City's/EDA's activities involving mobile home parks
has recently become apparent.
It is necessary to appoint a full-time employee to direct the City's efforts in its mobile home
park activities instead of a contract employee or department head whose other regular duties preclude
the time commitment necessary.

2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTIONS
8.90.110(A) AND 8.90.110(H)(2) OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE
3 RELATING TO THE MOBILE HOME RENT BOARD.
4 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

6 SECTION 1. Section 8.90.110 (A) is hereby amended to read as follows:
7 "A. Establishment-The Mobile Home Rent Board of the City of San
Bernardino is hereby established."

9 SECTION 2. Section 8.90.110(H)(2) is hereby amended to read as follows:
10 112. Director. The Mayor with the approval of the
Common Council shall appoint a Mobile Home Rent
11 Board Director, hereinafter referred to as "Director," to
administer and carry out to the fullest extent possible the
12 expressed intent and purposes of this Chapter.
13 The Director shall be a full-time employee of the
City of San Bernardino. In the alternative,the City of San
14 Bernardino may contract with the Economic Development
Agency of the City of San Bernardino to provide a
15 Director. If so,the Director shall be a full-time employee
of the Economic Development Agency of the City of San
16 Bernardino.
17 The Director shall be responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the Board. It shall also be the Director's
18 responsibility to provide Board members with copies of all
current federal, state, and city laws, codes, ordinances and
19 regulations referred to in this Chapter."
