of Rancho Avenue and $20 , 000 for street improvements on
Pennsylvania Ave. , north of Base Line St. approved in
1996/97 Gas Tax budget.
09-03--96 Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise

Recommended motion:
1 . That the transfer of $20 , 000 from Account No. 126-369-5504--7054 ,
"Kendall Drive at Littlefield/Shultis Park, " to Account No. 126.-
369-5504--7055 , "Rancho Avenue Improvements , " and the allocation
under Account No. 126--369-••5504-7055 be increased. by $7 , 738 , to
reflect participation by two adjoining property owners.

Bids for installation of street improvements on Rancho
Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue and Kendall 'Avenue were received at 2 : 00
p.m. , Tuesday, 10-29-96 .
A total of 10 bids were received, ranging from $77 , 471 . 60 to
$122 ,528 . 00 . The low bid of $77 , 471 . 60 is 3 . 3% under the Engineer' s
Estimate of $80 , 156 . 00 .
Below is the total estimated project cost, based upon the
actual low bid price.

Two (2) adjoining property owners have requested that curbs
and gutters, and fill-in paving, be installed under this project.
The cost for these improvements is $7 , 738 . A request has been sub-
mitted to these owners to remit their proportionate shares .
Supplemental funds in the approximate amount of $20 , 000 will
be needed to fully finance the total estimated project cost. It is
recommended that $20 , 000 be transferred from the $75 , 000 allocated
for street improvements adjacent to Little field/Shultis Park. The
remaining balance of $55 , 000 will be sufficient to finance the total
estimated project cost for street improvements at
Littlefield/Shultis Park.

We recommend that the transfer of $20 , 000 be approved, and a
contract awarded to the low bidder.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
The improvements on Rancho Avenue will eliminate a sag point where
storm waters pond. It is very desirable to start this project as
soon as possible in order that it can be completed before the rainy
season.
