Synopsis of Previous Council action:
05-20-96 - Recommendation from Traffic Safety Committee accepted,
and expenditure of $25 , 000 approved.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for traffic signal modifications and street
improvements at Waterman Avenue and southerly ramps to Route 30
Freeway, in accordance with Plan No. 9517 , be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to advertise
for bids .

STAFF REPORT
Plans for modification of traffic signals, at Waterman
Avenue and the southerly ramps to Route 30 Freeway, have been
prepared and the project is ready to be advertised for bids . The
project consists, in general , of installing pedestrian signals
and push buttons, and a crosswalk.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 19 ,500
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1942) 2 , 000
Sub-Total $ 21 , 500
Contingencies (150) ± 3 , 500
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 25 , 000
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to
the $25 , 000 authorized under Account No. 250-370-5504-1942 ,
"Minor Improvements - Various Locations . "
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
