BACKGROUND On July 1, 1995, an Agreement (95-201)between the City and Casa De San Bernardino, Inc., was executed. The Agreement provided Community Development Block Grant(CDBG)funding for the completion of ADA modifications to the interior of the building located at 735 North"D" Street for access by handicapped individuals. The First Amendment to the Agreement will provide $7,500 in additional CDBG funds to allow for the completion of the work. In June 1996, an invitation for bid was prepared and released but only one bid was received after the bid opening in July 1996. The original amount of CDBG funds awarded to the project was $6,275. The only bid received was for$12,506. Allowing for a contingency, an additional $7,500 is needed to assure that the project is completed. RECOMMENDATION It is appropriate for the Mayor and Common Council to approve the First Amendment to the Agreement No. 95-201 between the City of San Bernardino and Casa De San Bernardino, Inc. WINKLER, Director Development Department ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ REW:NJ0:1ag:08-05-01.CDC COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA MEETING DATE: 08/05/1996 Agenda Item Number: lv� FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AGREEMENT THIS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 95-201 referred to as ("Amendment"), is made and entered into this 1 st day of August, 1996 by and between the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation, referred to as("City"), and Casa De San Bernardino, Inc. , a non-profit community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and Subrecipient agree as follows: WITNESSETH Community Development Block Grant Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement #95-134, dated July, 1995, referred to as("Agreement"), for fair housing services; and Whereas, City ans Subrecipient desire to amend agreement to include the subrecipient's completion of an analysis of impediments to fair housing; and Whereas, City desires to increase the amount Community Development Block Grant funding in the amount of Seventy-five Hundred Dollars ($7,500)to allow Subrecipient to complete amendment. Now, therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the mutual benefits to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows: 1. Add to Section 1(b)Recitals (The revised Exhibit"A") 2. Change the first sentence in Section 2 Payments City shall reimburse Subrecipient for allowable costs incurred under the scope of this Agreement and applicable Federal regulations, which have not been paid for or reimbursement will be made at least on a monthly basis, with the total of all such reimbursements not to exceed $13,775.
