STAFF REPORT
APPROVAL TO INSTALL A WALKING
TRACK AND OTHER AMENITIES AS
PART OF PHASE II DEVELOPMENT
OF ANNE SHIRRELLS PARK.
A walking track has been the most requested amenity for Anne Shirrells Park by the
neighborhood park users. A track has been designed and as part of Phase II development will
be installed along with other improvements to the walkway system and the park street inside the
park. These improvements will complete the facility and provide a full service park for the
citizens in this 6th Ward community.
As a regional facility of 12 acres including a ball park, basketball court, picnicking amenities
and open space, it is appropriate that Park Construction Funds be used for this project.
