This Agreement with Rita Coronado for mentor coordinator services was established on April 17, 1995 for a term of one year. The Agreement was amended extending the term to June 30, 1996. The proposed amendment will provide for a term covering the current fiscal year. Original funding for the Mentoring Program came from matching contributions from the City and the San Bernardino City Unified School District and totaled $ 39,000. Savings from the original funding covered the extended term. The Mayor's Youth Task Force has acquired a County CDBG Grant in the amount of $ 19,500 and a City CDBG Supplemental Grant is expected to provide a like amount to cover the program for an additional year. The Mentoring Program has gotten off to a very sound start. An Advisory Board has been established and over 40 mentors have been recruited and placed at every middle school in the district at the start of the 1995 school year. Recruitment is ongoing and with returning mentors, the 1996 school year is expected to start with twice the mentors in place. The Mentoring Program has already had a number of successes with positive feedback from principals, teachers, parents, students and mentors. Approval is recommended. 9/5/96 amt =atoms 1 AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2 THIS AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT for professional Services is 3 made and entered into this day of 1996, 4 by and between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ( "City" ) and RITA 5 CORONADO ( "CONSULTANT" ) . 6 WITNESSETH: 7 WHEREAS, the parties hereto entered into that certain 8 Agreement for Professional Services on April 17, 1995, to provide 9 Mentoring Coordinator services, and 10 WHEREAS, said Agreement as amended was to expire by its 11 terms on June 30, 1996, and 12 WHEREAS, the parties desire to extend said Agreement to 13 expire instead at the end of the fiscal year, on June 30, 1997 . 14 NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES HERETO AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 15 1 .
