Description) Installat ' n of f;ti c Signals - Victoria Avenue & Citrus St. Finance: Council Notes: r { C Agenda Item No. y b CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION R STAFF REPORT Plans for installation of traffic signals at Victoria Avenue and Citrus Street have been completed, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids . The project consists , in general , of installing actuated traffic signals with highway safety lighting, and audible and visual pedestrian signals . Poles will be furnished by the City in order to reduce the time for construction. Below is an estimate of the total project cost: Construction Contract - $ 61 , 000 City Furnished Materials 8 , 000 Sub-Total $ 69 , 000 Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #7082) 5 , 000 Contingencies (15%) ± 11 , 000 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 85 , 000 All costs will be financed from the $85 , 000 payment received from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. These costs will be charged to Account No. 246-366-5504-7082 . We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids. URGENCY CLAUSE: There have been considerable indications of concern expressed from residents of this area over the traffic conditions of Victoria Avenue and Citrus Street. It is desired to accomplish the installation of these traffic signals at the earliest possible date, in order to address this concern. 8-13-96 75.0264
