STAFF REPORT
The County has requested that the City participate in a
co-operative project for rehabilitation of the pavement on
Sterling Avenue, from State Highway 30 to Lynwood Drive, and in-
stallation of traffic signals at Date Street. Approximately
43 . 750 of this section of Sterling Avenue is within the City
limits.
The proposed Agreement provides, in general , that the
County will act as Lead Agency to have the improvements con-
structed, and that the City will pay 43 . 75% of the actual final
cost.
The City' s share of the project cost will be financed
from the $500 , 000 of Gas Tax, Proposition No. 111 funds , allo-
cated for resurfacing various streets under Account No. 126-356-
57736 . The Public Services Department has indicated their
support of this project, and that sufficient funds are available
to finance the City' s share of the costs. Concurrence from the
City is required in the event that the bids exceed the estimate
by more than 25% .
We recommend that the Agreement be approved.
