1 . That the transfer of $30 , 000 from Account No. 131-000-30405 ,
"Unappropriated Reserve, " to Account No. 131--367-56410 ,
"Traffic Signals - 'E' Street and 34th Street. " be approved.
AND
2 . That the plans for installation of traffic signals and minor
widening, at "E" St. and 34th St. , in accordance with Plan No.
9190 , be approved; and the Director of Public Works/City Engi--
neer be authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for installation of traffic signals and minor
widening, at "E" Street and 34th Street, have been prepared by a
Consulting Engineer, and the project is ready to be advertised for
bids. The project consists, in general , of installing traffic
signals and highway safety lighting, widening the approaches on "E"
Street, constructing handicap ramps , and relocating 7 water meters
and a fire hydrant.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 105 , 746
Consultant ' s Design Fee 2 . 500
Engineering & Inspection (W_0. #1536) 7 , 450
Relocate Water Meters & Fire Hydrant 7 , 720
Sub-Total $ 123 , 416
Contingencies (5%) ± _ 6 , 584
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 130 , 000
An amount of $100 , 000 has been allocated, under Account
No. 131-367-56410 , "Traffic Signals - "E" Street and 34th Street, "
to finance the costs that will be incurred for this project.
Supplemental funds in the amount of $30 ,000 will be needed to
finance the unexpected cost for widening the approaches , (in order
to allow the traffic signal equipment to be installed at their
ultimate width and avoid having to prohibit parking) , and for
relocation of the water meters and hydrant.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids, and that the necessary supplemental
funding be provided.
