08/19/86 - Resolution No. 86-334 was adopted, changing the name of Orange Show Road, West of the 1-215, to
Auto Plaza Drive.
02/15/99 - Resolution No. 1999-24 was adopted authorizing the street name change from Auto Plaza Drive to
Auto Center Drive.
Recommended Motion:
That the Director of Development Services be authorized to proceed with the street name change from Auto
Center Drive to Auto Center Road.

Authorization to Proceed--- Street Name Change from Auto Center Drive to Auto Center Road

_Background:
On January 11, 1999, authorization was given to proceed with the street name change from Auto Plaza Drive to
Auto Center Drive. The request came as a result of the business name change of San Bernardino Auto Plaza to
Inland Empire Auto Center.
Various departments were contacted and no conflicts were noted, and after a public hearing, Resolution No. 1999-
24 was adopted on February 15, 1999, authorizing and directing the name change.
It was later noted that a conflict does in fact exist, as there already exists a nearby East/West street that also bears
the name of Auto Center Drive, as shown on the attached plan. To eliminate the conflict, the petitioner requested
another street name change from Auto Center Drive to Auto Center Road.
The petitioner has paid the $500.00 processing fee and will also pay the cost of changing the street name signs.
Departments will again be notified of the change. As before, no addresses will be affected by the change.
Financial Impact•
None. Petitioner has paid a $500.00 non-refundable processing fee and will also pay the cost of new street signs.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that authorization be given to proceed with the street name change from Auto Center Drive to
Auto Center Road.
