This has caused several problems such as increased noise, branches being knocked off trees and damage to the street. To resolve the situation they requested the prohibition of commercial truck use on their street. Staff evaluated the request. Trucks using this street are on their way to/from deliveries to the paint and liquor stores located on the north side of Highland Avenue just west of the Crosstown Freeway. There is a back access to these businesses through the residential streets. Trucks use this street to avoid Highland Avenue. Staff concurs with the requestors and therefore recommends approval of the request. Restrictions will not cause any hardship on the trucks as they have complete access to these businesses using Highland Avenue. Although no other complaints have been received, staff believes that if 23' Street is restricted, the trucks will simply use parallel streets to the north, or"I" Street on the east. These are also residential streets very similar to 23rd Street. For this reason we are requesting that these roads also be restricted. Financial Impact: Funding for installation of the truck prohibition signs will come from the general fund's signing and striping materials account. This action is considered routine; consequently, there will be no major impact to the account. Recommendation: Adopt Ordinance prohibiting commercial truck usage on "I" Street between 23rd Street and 27" Street. And, on 23rd Street, 24t" Street, 25th Street, and 26t" Street, all between Lincoln Drive and"I" Street 23" Street, 24" Street, 25" Street, 26t' Street and "I" Street Proposed Commercial Vehicle Prohibition Location of Proposed Commercial Vehicle Prohibition ` 31ST w sr o MLVp Vill 31ST M L014ITA q4 .s w riti 600 500 400 yJ g r tr A 30Ty i z s iC1 `,f N 159D N 1 n aLiMA toon RD n; ST w 261)4 ST ° . 3 !.` ® ST 2 oa_ 9 ---F 21 ST H ST Y W_ALEXANDER av o p W 1300 27TH E , w zrn3 w N 1° laoo Es W COURTL S? liO w 7 5171 0 u 10D 600 ON ° w 2 w 5 251t4 Sr W 24TH ST z g w W 2 M •• w w z eoo x MIA w a 'j' etri 23RD a a3 z F S .4 - --- - N kJJJ y N Z L - 1600 LIS GcR 1200 w 21ST T 700 rawxt vtx h w 1 A 3 u8 w 21ST 9d 'o9 ST 1D0 w 23SS - AWR A > 13M sca w ST soEV_'` a_ 20TH w 20TH ST ca a o W w WY w GOOOLETT ST ° N mwtuErr my a -ka — s I N THFATON ST w ST w INI p Ordinance No . 1 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION 10 .24 . 190 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT 2 COMMERCIAL VEHICLES ON " I" STREET BETWEEN TWENTY-THIRD STREET AND TWENTY-SEVENTH STREET, TWENTY-THIRD STREET BETWEEN LINCOLN 3 DRIVE AND "I" STREET, TWENTY-FOURTH STREET BETWEEN LINCOLN DRIVE AND " I" STREET, TWENTY-FIFTH STREET BETWEEN LINCOLN 4 DRIVE AND "I" STREET AND TWENTY-SIXTH STREET BETWEEN LINCOLN DRIVE AND " I" STREET. 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO 6 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : 7 SECTION 1 Section 10 .24 . 190 , Subsection A, of the San 8 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended to read as follows : 9 1110 .24 . 190 COMMERCIAL VEHICLES PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS 10 A.
