CLASSIFIED GENERAL FUND 1.- PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER & FIREFIGHTER - APPOINTMENTS 6. FIRE The Fire Department currently has seven (7) vacant positions; four (4) of those are Firefighter positions and three (3) of them are Paramedic/Firefighters. To keep all fire stations open around the clock, we must fill those vacancies on a day-by-day basis. These vacant positions are being filled with existing personnel on an overtime basis. Hiring these seven (7) personnel will bring the department back to the full number of personnel to achieve the minimum staffing numbers.
