Junior University has applied for the use of FDR Bowl in Perris Hill Park from May 1 through August 9, 1993 for its annual performance. By Resolution, rental fees for this use would be an estimated $5, 068. Junior University has been conducting youth theatre at FDR Bowl for over two decades. Attendance exceeds 15, 000 each summer. Junior University has acquired a $1 million liability policy. They have requested that the premium costs for this policy be accepted in lieu of the rental costs due to the high cost for the insurance. This, our 31st year, production will be "Peter Pan" and our dates will be July 23 through August 7, 1993. We are expecting attendance of Inland Empire residents to exceed 18, 000. We are again requesting that the City accept the Junior University' s payment of the insurance premium in lieu of the rental fees for the use of Roosevelt Bowl. Junior University is providing a $1 ,000,000.00 comprehensive liability policy that also covers the City. The premium on this policy is very costly and additional expense of rental costs would make our financial arrangements extremely difficult.
