Synopsis of Previous Council action:
05-01-89 - - Resolution No. 89-119 adopted awarding a contract to
Inland Overhead Door Company, for the low bid price of
$27 , 721 . 00 .
06-19-89 - - Change Order No. One approved, to authorize bringing
the overhead doors up to good working condition, for
an increase of $9 , 453. 75 in the contract price.
07-02-90 - - Change Order No. Two approved, to extend the contract
for a one-year period, from 7-1-90 to 6-30-91 , at no
adjustment in the contract prices.
04-24-91 - - Change Order No. 3 approved, to extend the contract
for a one-year period, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92, at no
adjustment to the contract prices .

STAFF REPORT
Inland Overhead Door Company has a contract with the City
to maintain electrical and manually operated roll-up doors at
various City buildings. This is a highly specialized mainten-
ance, which the Contractor has performed in a very satisfactory
manner.
An inquiry was sent to this Contractor asking if they
would be willing to accept an extension of one year on this
"contract and, if so, under what conditions. Inland Overhead Door
Company responded that they would be willing to accept an
extension on their contract, at no increase in the unit prices.
The 12 riot screens at the Carousel Mall have recently
been placed back in service. These screens will be added by the
contract, at an estimated increase in the annual contract price
of $2 , 400 . 00, from $19 , 205. 00 to $21 , 605. 00.
Costs incurred for services under this contract will be
charged to Object Codes 53105 and 53150, "Building Maintenance, "
for the City facilities listed below:

We recommend that the Amendment to Contract, to extend the
term of the contract and add the 12 screens at the Carousel Mall,
be approved.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT WITH INLAND OVERHEAD DOOR
3 COMPANY RELATING TO THE PROVISION OF MAINTENANCE OF OVERHEAD
DOORS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
5 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1 . The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
7 hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of said
8 City, an Amendment to Contract dated May 1 , 1989 , with Inland
9 Overhead Door Company, relating to the provision of Maintenance
10 of Overhead Doors at Various Locations, per Plan No. 7663 , a copy
11 of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated
12 herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length.
13 SECTION 3. The authorization to execute the above
14 referenced agreement is rescinded if the parties to the agreement
15 fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage of this
16 resolution.

1 AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT

3 This Contract Amendment, made and entered into this
4 day of , 19 , by and between the City of San
5 Bernardino, a Municipal Corporation, 300 North "D" Street, San
6 Bernardino, California 92418 (City) and INLAND OVERHEAD DOOR
7 COMPANY, A California Corporation, 12401 South La Cadena Drive,
8 Colton, California, 92324 (Contractor) .
9 RECITALS
10 WHEREAS, the parties hereto entered into that certain
11 Contract dated May 1 , 1989 , relating to the provision of
12 Maintenance of Overhead Doors at Various Locations, per Plan No.
13 7663; and
14 WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 extended the contract from
15 July 1, 1990, to June 30 , 19 91, Change Order No. 3 extended the
16 contract from July 1 , 1991 , to June 30 , 1992, and Change Order
17 No. 4 extended the contract from July 1, 1992 , to June 30, 1993;
18 and
19 WHEREAS, the parties desire now to amend said Contract to
20 extend the term of the Contract and to include the 12 overhead
21 screens at the Carousel Mall.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree, as follows:
23 A. The Contract shall be extended for one year from
24 July 1, 1993, to June 30, 1994, with no increase in contract unit
25 prices.
26 B. Except that Contractor shall perform the
27 maintenance of 12 overhead screens at the Carousel Mall, each

1 door to be serviced every three months , or as otherwise directed
2 by the Engineer, for which City agrees to compensate Contractor
3 at a rate of $50 . 00 per service call , for an estimated total of
4 48 service calls, at a total estimated additional contract price
5 of $2 , 400 . 00.
6 C. Except as amended herein, all other terms,
7 specifications and conditions of the original agreement shall
8 remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
9 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this
10 Amendment to Contract on the day and date first above shown.
