STAFF REPORT
Parking District Lot #1 is located at "E" Street, between 4th and
5th Street, and provides parking mainly to employees and patrons of
the Department of Social Services Welfare Office and the Social
Security Office. Currently, approximately 60% of the spaces are
long term parking, with the remainder limited to one and two-hour
parking only. Because of the increasing demand for services from
DPSS and Social Security, parking has become a serious concern for
these agencies and they have asked for assistance from the City to
help alleviate the problem. One step the City can take is to
remove the one and two hour restriction so that both employees and
clients would have better access to long-term parking. The Parking
Place Commission recommended approval of this request on October 8,
1992 .
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt resolution that removes short-term parking limitations for
parking spaces in District Lot #1.

7 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

5. 5, CENTRAL CITY OFF-STREET PARKING AREAS, is amended by

deleting Paragraph "B" .

SECTION 2 : Resolution No. 8234 , Section Five, Subsection

deleting Paragraph "A" .
