STAFF REPORT
The Traffic Engineering Section received a request to
evaluate the intersection of 39th Street and Severance Avenue for
stop signs. The intersection is currently uncontrolled.
An investigation was completed by the Traffic Engineering
Staff that concluded that stop signs for north and south bound
traffic are warranted.
The Traffic Safety Committee evaluated this request at
their April 19 , 1995 , meeting. The Committee concurred with the
findings of the Traffic Engineering Staff and recommended that
stop signs, for north and south bound traffic, be installed at
the intersection of 39th Street and Severance Avenue.
Also included in the attached resolution are stop signs
that are currently in place against 39th Street. These stop
signs were previously authorized under Resolution No. 2482 . This
action will consolidate all stop signs along 39th Street, under
Resolution No. 655 , for consistency.
We recommend that the installation of stop signs for
Severance Avenue, at 39th Street, be approved.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 655 ENTITLED, IN PART, "A RESOLUTION. .
3 DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS OR PORTIONS THEREOF AS THROUGH
HIGHWAYS . . ; " AND PROVIDING THAT THIRTY-NINTH STREET IS A
4 THROUGH HIGHWAY AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH SEVERANCE AVENUE.
5 BE I^1 RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS :

7 SEC2IOI1 1 : Resolution No. 655 , which designates certain
streets or portions thereof as through highways, Section 1 , is
8
amended by adding Subsection 17 . 7 to read as follows:

"17 . 7 THIRTY-NINTH STREET

(a) At its intersection with Severance Avenue.

12 (b) From and including Golden Avenue to and including
Del Rosa Avenue (Stop sign is authorized for south
13
bound traffic only at Del Rosa Avenue) .
