Recommended motion:
That the plans for heating and scarifying the pavement on various
streets, in accordance with Plan No. 9304 , be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized to advertise for
bids.

p STAFF REPORT
Plans for heating and scarifying various streets have
been prepared by the Engineering Division, and the project is
ready to be advertised for bids. The project consists, in
general , of heating and scarifying the pavement to a depth of 1
inch, and applying a 1-inch overlay of asphalt concrete, on the
28 sections of street shown on the attached list.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 688 , 000
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1520) 25 , 000
Sub-Total $ 713 , 000
Contingencies (5%) ± 35, 000
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 748 , 000
All costs incurred for this project will be financed from
the $500 , 000 allocated in the 1994/95 Gas Tax Budget, under
Account No. 126-369-5504-1520 and the $500 , 000 allocated in the
1994/95 I-Cent Sales Tax Fund, under Account No. 129-369-5504-
1521 .
We recommend that the plans be approved and authority
granted to advertise for bids.
