04-04-94 - Resolution No. 94-83 adopted authorizing execution of an
Agreement with CM Engineering for professional design
services.

Recommended motion:
1 . That the transfer of $262 , 000 from Account No. 245-365-5504-1526,
Phase I- Northwest Interceptor Sewer, " to Account No. 245-365-
C) 5504-1528 , "Phase III -Northwest Interceptor Sewer, " be approved.
AND
2 . That the plans for installation of Phase III of the Northwest
Intercepting Sewer in Medical Center Drive, from 6th Street to
16th Street, in accordance with Plan No. 9187 , be approved; and
the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to
advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for Phase III of the Northwest Interceptor Sewer
have been prepared by the consulting engineer, and the project is
ready to be advertised for bids. The project consists, in
general, of installing an inch sewer line in Medical Center
Drive, from 6th Street to 16th Street.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 477 , 056
Consultant' s Design Fee 29 , 400
Engineering & Insp. (W.O. #1528) 25 , 600
Sub-Total $ 532 , 056
Contingencies (15%) ± 79 , 944
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 612 ,000
An amount of $350 , 000 has been allocated, in the 1986/87
Sewer Line Construction Fund Budget, under Account No. 245-365-
5504-1528 , to finance the costs that will be incurred for Phase
III of the Northwest Interceptor Sewer. Supplemental funds, in
the amount of $262 , 000 will be needed to fully finance the total
estimated project cost. It is recommended that $262 , 000 be
transferred from the available balance for Phase I , under Account
No. 245-365-5504-1526 .
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
