for bids continued to 05-01-95 .

Recommended Motions:
a) That the plans for installation of twenty-nine (29) additional
street lights on Base Line Street, from "H" Street to Waterman
Avenue, in accordance with Plan No. 9287 , be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to advertise
for bids .
b) That staff be authorized to proceed with finalizing the cost
estimate for arborization of ase Line Street in an amount not
to exceed $68 , 915 .

STAFF REPORT
Approval of Plans and
Authorization to Advertise for Bids
Twenty-Nine Additional Street Lights
Base Line Street
Plans for installation of additional street lights on Base Line
Street have been prepared by the Engineering Division, and the
project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project
consists, in general , of installing twenty-nine (29) additional
street lights, with 200 watt lamps, between "H" Street and
Waterman Avenue. Twenty-nine additional street lights will
provide an optimum lighting system, as requested by Dr. F. J.
Curlin.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 128 , 000
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1408) _ 2 , 850
Sub-Total $ 130 , 850
Contingencies (150) ± 19 , 150
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 150 , 000
All costs incurred for this project will be financed from the
$218 ,915 allocated in the 1994/95 CDBG Program, under Account No.
100-80609 .
Relamping of the existing street lights will be done by City
Forces .
We recommend that the plans be approved, and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
