Recommended motion:
1. That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized to proceed with the proposed vacation of the North 32.5 feet of
29th Street, East of vacated San Gabriel Street.
and
2. That Plan No. 9301, showing the proposed vacation of the North 32.5 feet of
29th Street, East of vacated San Gabriel Street is approved.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received from David Sanborn requesting that the North 1/2 of 29th
Street lying South of his property East of Valencia Avenue be vacated. His request
is based on the fact that 29th Street deadends into the San Bernardino County East
Twin Creek Flood Control channel . The property on the South side of 29th Street is
owned by the City of San Bernardino and leased to the SBCFCD for a settling basin.
The SBCFCD was contacted to determine their position. They requested that the
South 1/2 be retained as a public street for access to their property. As long as
their access was guaranteed, they had no problem with the North 1/2 being vacated.
After consideration by Public Works/Engineering Staff, it was decided to vacate
only the North 32.5 feet which would retain the South 50 feet for public use.
The petitioner has deposited the required $500.00, which represents one-half of the
total fee of $1,000.00. The remaining $500.00 will be due after the investigative
proceedings, if the petitioners wish to proceed.
We recommend that authority be granted to proceed.
