The low bid of $95 , 584 . 00 is 42% below the Engineer' s Estimate of $164 , 800 . 00 . Listed below is the estimated project cost based on the actual low bid price for the construction: Construction Contract $ 95 ,584 . 00 Engineering & Inspection (W.0. #1783) 16 , 200. 00 Sub-Total $ 111 , 784 . 00 Contingencies (15%) ± 17 ,216 . 00 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 129 , 000. 00 Funds for this construction are in Account No. 132-000- 3405-1783 in an amount of $190 , 000 . 00 . The minority goals for this project have not been met. However, staff has reviewed all of the bids and finds the low bidder did make a good faith effort with respect to minority participation. None of the three bidders were able to provide minority participation. This is a specialty contract with the manufacturers supplying the material and expertise to install the materials. Overall, on the year to date, we exceed the goals for minority and woman participation in our projects awarded.
