CITY OF SAN BERM ;DINO - REQUEST V I COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The Public Meeting was set in Resolution No. 93-409, which was adopted on 11-1- 93, for the purpose of discussing the proposed underground utility district. No action can be taken at this meeting and protests, if any, must be carried to the Public Hearing to be held on 12/20/93, at which time action may be taken relative to' the formation of the proposed district. The proposed formation of Underground Utility District No. 22, generally located along portions of 5th, 6th, 7th, "F", "G" & "H" Streets, was recommended by the City's Underground Utility District Committee at their meeting of May 5, 1993. Certain utility companies are required by Rule 20 of the Public Utilities Commission to set aside a certain portion of their revenues to finance the cost of undergrounding overhead facilities within districts established by local agencies. Each agency is allocated a certain amount of funds based upon the total number of overhead services within the agency's boundaries. The Underground Utility Committee reviews and designates areas proposed for the establishment of a district. Property owners within the district will be required to complete the undergrounding from their property lines to the service points at their own cost. No City funds will be required for this project (other than staff time) . All property owners within the proposed district and affected utility companies were mailed a notice of the meeting and hearing. 75-0264 o. •.1 Q Z W _ ti `l CID J1 AP y !!/ O N S !
