Motion: Adopt the Resolution.
Synopsis
On September 21, 2015, the Mayor and Common Council acting as the Successor
Agency to the Redevelopment Agency adopted Resolution 2015-210 authorizing the
issuance of a purchase order in an amount of $80,000 for water damage remediation
services at 201 North E Street.
Background/Current Issue
On August 3, 2015, staff received notification from Big 5 about a water leak that
occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Due to the potential risk of mold formation in
water saturated flooring, ceilings and drywall, to protect the health and safety of the
employees, and to minimize disruption to the work of City staff and to employees and
customers of Big 5, it was necessary to undertake immediate remediation actions.
Under authorization of the City Manager, staff contacted ServPro, Inc. (a prior City
vendor) to begin the water extraction and remediation process.
ServPro has completed the water extraction and remediation process and has
submitted the final invoice which exceeds the estimated amount authorized above.
Staff is requesting that purchase order #2015-967 be increased by $42,502.51 to cover

the remaining costs related to the flooding of the first floor at the 201 North E Street
building.
