Recommended motion:
That Contract Change Order No. 1 to the contr-.ct with Mentone Turf
Suppl-,r, for the maintenance of landscaping in A -sessment District No.
959, in accordance with Plan No. 6363-B, be apnrr,ved; to authorize the
Contractor to relocate conduit and wiring on K-��Idall Drive, at an in-
crease in the contract price of $5 , 831 . 24. , from $69 , 015. 00 to
$74 , 846 . 24 .

STAFF REPORT
Block Brothers installed landscaping and an automatic
irrigation system within the Kendall Drive parkway adjacent to
their properties . This work was done to enhance the market-
ability of their properties .
A parcel was subsequently sold to the developer of a
senior citizen apartment complex. The site plans for this
development directed that a fence be installed along the front
property line for security.
During excavation for the foundation for this fence, it
was discovered that the conduit for the automatic irrigation
controller wires had been installed beyond the street right-of-
way line. This conduit had to be relocated, since it was in
conflict with the foundation for the fence.
In order to avoid delaying work by the developer on the
fence and loss of plant material , our landscape maintenance
Contractor proceeded to relocate the conduit within the parkway
area. This work was done on a time and material basis as
provided for in Section 6-1 . 03 of the special provisions. About
600 feet of conduit had to be relocated, which necessitated
pulling in approximately 3, 100 feet of new control wire.
The total cost of this extra work is $5 , 831 . 24. This
amount will be financed from assessments on the parcels within
Assessment District No. 959.
We recommend that Change Order No. 1 be approved.

Engineer, at a total cost of $5,831.24.
