CITY- OF SAN BERNARDINO REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The City received a request from the San Manuel Band of
Mission Indians to install a 4-way stop at the intersection of
Lynwood Drive and Central Avenue. This intersection is currently
uncontrolled.
The Traffic Engineering staff conducted an investigation
of this intersection in response to this request. The investiga-
tion found that a 4-way stop is not warranted. However,
intersection safety would be enhanced if a 2-way stop is
installed for north and southbound traffic.
The Traffic Safety Committee reviewed this issue. The
Committee concurred with the findings and recommendations of the
Traffic Engineering staff that stop signs be installed for north
and southbound traffic on Central Avenue.
We recommend that the installation of stop signs on
Central Avenue at Lynwood Drive be approved.
