2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 SAN BERNARDINO OPPOSING FURTHER EXPANSION OF OMNITRANS IN THE AREA
OF 1700 WEST FIFTH STREET, SAN BERNARDINO.
4 WHEREAS, citizens of the First and Sixth Ward living in the
5 proximate area of Omnitrans, 1700 West Fifth Street, have
6 expressed concern regarding the additional expansion of the
7 Omnitrans operations above and beyond the construction of an
8 Administration Building; and
9 WHEREAS, several citizens have signed petitions strongly
10 voicing their opposition to said expansion; and
11 WHEREAS, these neighborhood residents have been extremely
12 cooperative with Omnitrans in allowing their location and
13 existence in this area for over 15 years; and
14 WHEREAS, expansion in this lrea would cause additional
15 noise, pollution and traffic; and
16 WHEREAS, there are other sites within Omnitrans ' area of
17 operation that would be more suitable for an expansion; and
18 WHEREAS, the area designated for expansion is zoned
19 Residential and not Commercial or Light Industrial,
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common
21 Council of the City of San Bernardino do hereby support the
22 citizens and oppose any further Omnitrans expansion in the area,
