The property owners within these districts are assessed each year for the contract costs and incidental expenses. Items such as inspection, contract administration, water and electrical utility bills are included in the incidental costs. The assessments on properties within these districts may vary from year to year, depending upon the actual costs incurred for contract and incidental costs. Twenty-two (22) assessment districts, have been established for maintenance of landscaping. Some of these districts have several zones, so there are actually 26 maintenance areas. Two of these also includes the maintenance and operation of a sewer lift station by City forces. The assessments in 14 of these districts did not increase over last year and do not require a noticed public hearing. The attached summary lists the various maintenance districts that are being submitted at this time. We recommend that the 1996/97 Assessment Rolls for the various districts be confirmed. 1996/97 ASSESSMENT ROLLS SUMMARY CHAPTER 12.90 MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS - NO INCREASE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO.
