In an effort to ensure that the crossing guard program continues for Fiscal Year 1996-97 , I am recommending that the San Bernardino Unified School District fund one-half of the cost of the Crossing Guard Program for Fiscal Year 1996-97 ($81, 450) . To ensure no change in the level of crossing guard services, it is recommended that funding in the amount of $81,450 be restored in the Fiscal Year 1996-97 Budget. This action would increase the current budget shortfall from $447, 600 to $529, 050. (Note: These figures do not include the additional $95, 600 in expenditure savings which have been approved only in concept. )
