AGREEMENT, CONTRACT NO. W957032, WITH CALIFORNIA STATE
UNIVERSITY.
Recommended motion:
THAT THE PLANS FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT NORTHPARK BOULEVARD AND
COYOTE DRIVE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLAN NO. 9419, BE APPROVED; AND THE DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER BE AUTHORIZED TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for installation of traffic signals at Northpark Boulevard
and Coyote Drive (private) have been prepared and the project is
ready to be advertised for bids. The project consists, in general,
of installing traffic signals and highway safety lighting. An
additive alternate will be included in the contract documents for
extension of the left turn lane, in the event sufficient funds are
available.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost.
Construction Contract $ 75, 060
Engineer & Inspection (W.O. #7034 ) $ 9, 600
Edison Service Fee $ 2 , 000
Sub-total $ 86, 660
Contingencies (5%) ± $ 3 , 340
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 90,000
The Standard Agreement with San Bernardino State University
provides that the City will proceed to have the traffic signals
installed and be reimbursed for 1/2 of the actual cost. Also, that
the State will pay all costs associated with modification to the
center medium.
All costs incurred for the City's share will be financed from the
$45, 000 allocated under Account No. 126-369-5504-7034 .
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted
to advertise for bids.
