Synopsis of Previous Council action:
04-15-91 - Resolution No. 91-127 adopted awarding a contract to
Gosnev Construction, for installation of sidewalks on
Kendall Dr. , Base Line St. and Date St. , for the low bid
price of $75 ,540 . 80 .
6-92 -- Allocation of $75 , 000 in CDBG funds approved to install
handicap ramps at various locations.
07-19-93 - Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise
for bids for handicap ramp projects.

STAFF REPORT
The Local Transportation Fund (LTF) , Article 3 monies to
the county-wide curb cut program has established an allocation
process that sets aside 20 percent of the annual apportionments
for the Article 3 Program for the installation of curb cuts
(handicap ramps) for the cities and the County of San Bernardino.
Each agency will receive an equal share of the available
funds. These funds will be provided on a reimbursement basis up
to each agency' s remaining fair share balance. Any agency
applying for their funds will be required to provide proof of the
completion of the ramp project or projects for which they are
seeking reimbursement. An agency may not be reimbursed for more
than is currently available in its respective fund account at
SANBAG. The current amount available for the City of San
Bernardino is $19 , 054 . 00 .
The Mayor and Common Council at their regular meeting of
January 24 , 1994 adopted a resolution awarding the contract to
West Coast Construction for the construction of handicap ramps at
various locations throughout the City of San Bernardino. The
amount of the contract was $46 , 400 . 00. All construction work has
been completed on this project.
This project was funded with CDBG Block Grant funds.
SANBAG had allocated $19 , 054 . 00 for the construction of
approved handicap ramps at certain locations throughout the City.
The handicap ramps at these locations were incorporated into the
plans and specifications for the overall project, which included
additional handicap ramps not funded by SANBAG.
We recommend that authorization be granted to file a
claim for reimbursement with SANBAG for $19 ,054 . 00 .
