08-07-95 - Authorization granted to initiate proceedings for
formation of an assessment district for New Pine Avenue,
selection of consultants confirmed, directed that
assessments be paid at close of escrow for the 42 homes
in Tract No.. 15642 , and City Administrator directed to
pursue alternate funding sources.
09-05-95 - Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise
for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Bids for installation of traffic signals at Kendall
Drive and New Pine Avenue were opened at 2 : 00 p.m. , Tuesday, 10-
31-95 .
A total of 10 bids were received, ranging from
$80 ,242 . 90 to $107 , 109 . 00 . The low bid of $80 , 242 . 90 is 12 . 2%
under the Engineer ' s Estimate of $91 , 375 . 00 .
The traffic signal poles will be furnished by the City,
in -order to reduce the normal 14 - 16 week delivery date.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based
upon the actual low bid price:

An amount of $131 , 833 . 00 has been collected from
developers over the past several years to help finance the cost
of re-aligning Pine Avenue. Those funds have been transferred
to Account No. 242-362-5504-1746 , and are available to finance
the costs that will be incurred for this project.

URGENCY CLAUSE:
Work has been started by the subdivider on the improvements in
connection with Tract No. 15642 . It is necessary for the
contract for the traffic signals to be awarded at the meeting of
11-06-95 , in order for the work to be coordinated with the
improvements being installed by the subdivision.
