Recommended motion:
That the expenditure of $1 , 500 , from Account No. 126-369-3405 ,
"Undesignated Balance, " as the City' s share (25%) of the cost for
installing a 6-foot chain link fence at the north terminus of the
east frontage road for Route 330 , north of Highland Avenue, be
approved.

STAFF REPORT
The area northeasterly of the east frontage road, for the
Route 330 Freeway, has unrestricted access. This situation
invites trespassers, which results in crime, vandalism, and
establishment of temporary residence by the homeless.
Residents of the Mountain Shadows Mobilehome Park and
customers of the Wal-Mart Shopping Complex are subjected to
additional exposure to illegal activities and nuisances by the
persons from these temporary living quarters . Calls for police
services are common.
Stubblefield Construction Company has proposed that a 6-
foot chain link fence be constructed around the cul-de-sac at the
northerly terminus of the east frontage road, in order to
alleviate these problens by controlling access to this area. The
estimated cost of $6 , 000 will be equally financed by the
following:
1 . Stubblefield Construction Company
2 . San Bernardino County Flood Control District
3 . East Valley Water District
4 . City of San Bernardino
It is recommended that the expenditure of $1 , 500 , from
Account No. 126-369-3405 , "Undesignated Balance, be approved.
