04-03-95 Resolution No. 95-98 adopted authorizing the Mayor to
t-�xecute an application to amend the EDA Grant for access
roads and parking lot for airport terminal.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for construction of access roads and parking lot for
San Bernardino Internatinnal Airport terminal , in accordance with
Plan No. 9283 , be approved; and the Director of Public Works/City
Engineer be authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for construction of access roads and parking lot
for the San Bernardino International Airport Authority terminal
have been prepared by a consultant, and the project is ready to
be advertised for bids . The project consists, in general , of
improving Harry Sheppard Boulevard, from Del Rosa Drive to Leland
Norton Way, and Leland Norton Way, from Harry Sheppard Boulevard
to north of the terminal; construction of a 457 space parking
lot; and installation of landscaping and an irrigation system.
Below is a preliminary estimate of the total project
cost:

Consultant' s Design Fee 354 , 917
Construction Management (W.O. # ) 200 , 000
Sub-Total $ 3 , 817 , 597
Contingencies (15%) ± 572 , 403
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 4 ,390 , 000
An application has been submitted to amend the original
grant from the Federal Economic Development Administration to
increase the authorized amount by $2 , 558 , 660 , in order to finance
75% of the cost for this project. Local funds will be provided
by the San Bernardino International Airport Authority in the
amount of $852 , 886 as the 25% matching requirement. The total
amount of funds available for this project is $3 , 411 ,546 .
Deductive Alternates will be included in the contract
documents to delete certain components of the project as required
to bring the total estimated project cost, based upon the actual
low bid price, within the available funding level.
A map is attached showing the limits of this project.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise or bids.
