On May 7, 1990, the City Clerk and City Engineer were authorized to proceed with Assessment District No. 1000 for the improvement of Waterman Avenue between the I-10 Freeway and Baseline Street by the installation and maintenance of landscaping. On March 2, 1992, Resolution of Intention No. 92-81 was adopted which set a public hearing for April 6, 1992. Assessment District Boundary Map No. 1000 was filed in the office of the County Recorder on March 10, 1992 in Book 64 I of Assessments, page(s) 93 and the Resolution of Intention was published on March 10, 1992. On April 6, 1992, the hearing was held and protests were received. The hearing was continued to May 4, 1992 and again protests were received. It was then determined by motion to terminate the proposed Assessment District. Subsequent attempts were made to reduce the size and scope of the District at the direction of the Mayor in the hopes of getting Waterman Avenue landscaped but the responses from the affected property owners were still negative. Later, the Economic Development Department was involved and they have taken over the project and a contract has been awarded to install the landscaping so there is no further need for the proposed assessment district. As the Resolution of Intention has been adopted, it is necessary to adopt a Resolution abandoning the proceedings and attached is the pertinent Resolution for adoption. 5-26-93 75-0264 _ II L6 D ❑ I ,.,t ,., ❑ .z Lam"---- Z Y z W ir O ❑ Y wrv> z O a O a W N .
