The proposed purchase is for a roll-off truck cab and chassis only
to be utilized in daily operations by the Public Services/Refuse
Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were
publicly opened and declared on April 6, 1993 .
The following is a summary of bids received.

Seventeen (17) vendors of this commodity were solicited. Ten (10)
vendors responded. There were four (4) no bids and six (6) valid
bids. One of the six vendors submitted an alternate bid.
The cab and chassis is a replacement for equipment #196. The hoist
unit from the old unit #196 will be installed on the new cab and
chassis. Replacement of a complete roll-off truck was not
necessary.
The Fleet Divisions recommendation is the second lowest bid in the
amount of $73 , 510.28 . The difference of $79. 28 is offset by the
Fleet Division's desire to standardize portions of the fleet and
thereby reduce parts inventory. The Refuse Division currently owns
four WhiteGMC roll-off trucks. The lowest bid is a Peterbuilt
truck.

Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Fleet Manager who
concurs that the bid of Azusa WhiteGMC meets specifications and
requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bid be accepted
for contract. The equipment funding is in the 1993/94 budget.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE
ORDER TO AZUSA WHITEGMC FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF A ROLL-
3 OFF TRUCK CAB AND CHASSIS ONLY, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC
SERVICES/REFUSE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-
4 93-17 .
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO A FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. That Azusa WhiteGMC is the lowest and best
7 responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of a roll-off
8 truck cab and chassis only in accordance with Bid Specification
9 F-93-17 for the total amount of $73 , 510. 28;
pursuant to this
10 determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and
11 directed to issue a purchase order for said roll-off truck cab and
12 chassis only to said lowest and best responsible bidder; such
13 award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a Purchase
14 Order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other quotations therefor
15 are hereby rejected.
16 SECTION 2 . The authorization to execute the above
17 referenced purchase order is rescinded if it is not issued within
18 sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.
19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
