Synopsis of Previous Council action:
9-5-90 -- Resolution No. 90-381, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council,
found that the public interest, convenience, and necessity re-
goired the formation of a Landscaping maintenance district.
8-6-90 -- Resolution No. 90-338, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council,
declared that all the land included within the boundaries of said
district will be benefited by the maintenance of said landscaping.

STAFF REPORT
As required by the provisions of Chapter 12.90 of the Municipal Code alid
Resolutions No. 90-381 and 90-338, which established the District, the annual
assessment roll relative to Assessment District No. 997 (Irvington Avenue 11d
vacated Chestnut Avenue) has been prepared and is attached to the Resolution.
The roll for 1993-94 totals $ 4,772.17 and is submitted to your Honorable
Body for action as required.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CONFIRMING THE 1993-94 ASSESSMENT
ROLL FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 997, LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE, PORTIO" OF
3 VACATED CHESTNUT AVENUE BETWEEN IRVINGTON AVE. AND OHIO AVE.
4 WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 90-381, the Mayor and Common Council 1 d
5 that the public interest, convenience, and necessity required the formation
6 of a landscaping maintenance district; and
7
8 WHEREAS, by said Resolution No. 90-381, the Mayor and Common Council
formed an assessment district known as Assessment District No. 997 fo1- ' ?,e
9
10 }purpose of providing landscaping maintenance in the area of vacated Chestnut
11 Avenue between Irvington Ave. and Ohio Avenue, and in portions of Irving' -,n
12 Avenue pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 12.90 of the San Bernardino City
13 Municipal Code; and
a
14 WHEREAS, by Resoluti;>n No. 90-338, the "` .;.,r and Coiij-)n Council declared
15 that all the land included within the boundaries of said district will I;c
16 benefited by the maintenance of said landscaping; and
17
18 WHEREAS, said Resolution No.90-338 declared that an annual assessmi•rit
19 shall be levied on all land within the district to provide funding for said
20 landscaping maintenance and the administration thereof; and
21 WHEREAS, an Assessment Roll has been prepared totaling $4,772.17 which
22 sets forth the individual assessments to be levied on each of the parcels of-
23 land within Assessment District No. 997 for the fiscal year 1993-94,
24 including interest.

1 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY O
2 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

4 S1,'.'TION 1. That the Mayor and Common Council do hereby find and deter-
5 mine that the proportionate costs to be levied against the parcels of J ;iii
6 within Assessment District No. 997 are correctly set forth on Assessment
7 Roll No. 997 for the fiscal year 1993-94, designated as Exhibit "A" ;i,d
8 attached hereto, and do hereby confirm said assessments.

10 SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is directed to cause a copy of ' ',;s
11 Resolution to be transmitted to the Office of the Auditor-Controller for the
12 County of San Bernardino with the request that the individual assessments 1)e
13 placed on the subject 1993-94 property tax bills for collection together
14 with all other property taxes.
