Synopsis of Previous Council action:
8-21-89 -- Resolution No. 89-330, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council,
found that the public interest, convenience, and necessity
r-cquired the formation of a landscaping maintenance district.
7-17-89 -- Resolution No. 89-253, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council ,
declared that all the land included within the boundaries of said
district will be benefited by the maintenance of said landscap mg.
07-02-90 -- Resolution No. 90-274, adopted by the Mayor and Common Council,
expanded the district to include additional territory.
Recommended motion:
Adopt the Resolution.

- STAFF REPORT
As required by the provisions of Chapter 12.90 of the Municipal Code :1d
Resolutions No. 89-253 and 89-330, which established the District, the annual
assessment roll relative to Assessment District No. 991 (Verdemont and 011ve
Area Landscaping Maint. Distr. ) has been prepared and is attached to the
Resolution.
The roll for 1993-94 totals $21,752.94 and is submitted to your Honorable Body
for action as required.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CONFIRMING THE 1993-94 ASSESSMENT
ROLL FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 991, LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE, VERDEMONT 'ND
3 OLIVE AREA.

5 VIREAS, by Resolution No. 89-330, the Mayor and Common Council found
6 that the public interest, convenience, and necessity required the format ' .n
7 of a landscaping maintenance district; and

WHEREAS, by said Resolution No. 89-330, the Mayor and Common Coui::il
10 formed an assessment district known as Assessment District No. 991 for the
11 purpose of providing landscaping maintenance in the area of Verdemont :irld
12
Olive Avenues pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 12.90 of the San Bernar-
13 dino City Municipal Code; and
14 WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 89-253, the Mayor and Common Council declared
15 that all the land included within the boundaries of said district will ')e
16 benefited by the maintenance of said landscaping; and

WHEREAS, said Resolution No.89-253 declared that an annual assessm:,ni;
shall be levied on all land within the district to provide funding for said
19
20 landscaping maintenance and the administration thereof; and
21 WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 90-274, the Mayor and Common Council declared
22 that the public interest and necessity required the amendment of the boi, lla-
23 ries of the District by expanding the boundaries thereof to include addition-
24 al territory in the District; and

1 WHEREAS, an Assessment Roll has been prepared totaling $21,752.94 wli':.ti
2 sets forth the individual assessments to be levied on each of the parcels of
3 land within Assessment District No. 991 for the fiscal year 1993-94,

5 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
6 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Common Council do hereby find and deter-
9 mine that the proportionate costs to be levied against the parcels of 1, ml
10 within Assessment District No. 991 are correctly set forth on Assessment
11 Roll No. 991 for the fiscal year 1993-94, designated as Exhibit "A" anti
12 attached hereto, and do hereby confirm said assessments.
13 SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is directed to cause a copy of 11;ts
14 Resolution to be transmitted to the Office of the Auditor-Controller for the
15 County of San Bernardino with the request that the individual assessments l)e
16 placed on the subject 1993-94 property tax bills for collection together with
17 all other property taxes.
