The Fire Department believes that starting Ms. Croteau's salary at Step 6 is appropriate due to the knowledge, skills, and experience she brings to the position. Ms. Croteau has been with the department for roughly twenty years and has displayed strong leadership skills and a can-do attitude when given projects and work processes. With the added loss of Sarah Pearson from the Fire Marshall position,the Fire Department will rely more heavily on Ms. Croteau to perform extra duties. Ms. Croteau is the top candidate selected having successfully completed a thorough application screening and oral interviews. Ms. Croteau started with the department as a Dispatcher I in 1996,promoted to a Dispatcher II in 1997. Ms. Croteau promoted to Fire Prevention Officer in 2000,but has remained on staff as a part time Dispatcher as well.
