A4 CITY OF SAN BERCRDINO - REQUEST rVR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Since 1980, the City has permitted Cal Trans employees access to the Animal Shelter freezer for the purpose of depositing carcasses removed from the state roadways. Cal Trans deposit approximately 30 dead animals per month, a small fraction of the 1400 dead animals from all other sources. The present cost of the department's dead animal disposal is $900 per month for D & D Disposal (although it is subject to increase in FY 94) . This does not include electricity or staff time. The monthly fee for Cal Trans FY 93 was $42 . 00 per month. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereb 7 authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City a 8 Agreement with the State of California Department of Transportatio 9 for the disposal of animal carcasses from state highways in the Sa 10 Bernardino area, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit 11 "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set fort 12 at length. 13 SECTION 2 .
